Fryars - Cool Like Me (Official Video)

My bruhs Ian Schwartz and Cooper Roberts directed this and they jus fucked your life up.  This video has been out for two days and it's a travesty it hasn't got more hits.  I don't understand it.

Francis Lung - Age Limits

The WU LYF split has engendered a bounty of new music among them Los Porco's C.W.F.   which, while a decent piece of music, doesn't capture the same emotional intensity Ellie Roberts' vocals brought.  Francis Lung captures something of his previous incarnation's depth of feeling while blending in the polished sound of his new outfit.

L. Pierre - Movement I

The former mouthpiece for the now defunct Arab Strap (whose masterpiece, Monday at the Hug & Pint, echoes The Pogues), Aidan Moffat has had a productive year with his L. Pierre moniker with 2013 releases The Island Come True (The album takes it's name from a chapter from Peter & Wendy, and it too is grimmer than you probably remember: For all the adventure and wonder crammed into its few thousand words, the segment is littered with sorrow, longing and blood. Using crackling piano suites, field recordings, found loops and swelling bits of dusty classical pieces, Moffat has crafted something similarly antique and unexpectedly dark, a moving if not fractured album that feels congruent with Barrie's mix of the fantastic and the fearful. - Zach Kelly) and The Eternalist, a study in brevity released entirely on Twitter's Vine.  Now, he prepares for the release of a new EP, Surface Noise, of which Movement I is the first track.

Arca - &&&&&

This twenty-five minute free download comes after Arca’s credits on Kanye’s album and is as abstract as his pre-Kanye material. It is composed in a weird, sometimes psychedelic, sometimes hazily groovy modernist dream.

Willis Earl Beal - Too Dry To Cry

XL/HXC will release Willis Earl Beal's ‘Nobody Knows’ on 9 September.

Sam Smith - Safe With Me

Sam Smith's newest release features production from Two Inch Punch.

E.m.m.a. - Blue Gardens LP

Originally a fan of US hip-hop, E.m.m.a. became interested in grime and dubstep through Skream's seminal "Midnight Request Line," a hobby which led her to work with names like Sully, Rebel MC and dub legend Adrian Sherwood, the latter of whom apparently had an influence on Blue Gardens. Reportedly inspired by everything from sci-fi to Spaghetti Westerns to her own brand of "Victorian grime," the LP sees E.m.m.a. mostly sticking to the 130 BPM tempo in the vein of her Keysound labelmates but also features dips above and below.  --RA
I've been waiting on this one for awhile and it easily exceeds expectations.  Blue Gardens is out July 29 on Keysound.

UPDATE: SOUNDCLOUD STOPPED WORKING. ENTER SPOTIFY.

Gossamer -Chaino / Ab-Mass EP

On the A-side, Gossamer's metallic melody dances along the otherwise bare house background creating something infectiously delicate which is only furthered by the B-side which entertains a similarly minimalistic sound that crescendos in some odd perfection.

Obey City - Fallin'

Featured on Rustie's stellar BBC Essential Mix which is now a year past, Brooklyn-based Obey City's Fallin' finally sees release on LuckyMe Records.  See the EP sampler after the jump.

Kavinsky feat. The Weeknd - Odd Look (Remix)

See the EP below, with A-Trak and Surkin remixes.

Redinho - Searching

Numbers serves up the new Redinho track.  It is a follow up to his 2011 release Edge Off EP, similarly blending pitched vocals reminiscent of Roger Troutman, a type of boogie, with the glittering synths that are the family characteristic uniting "neon" music.   See a sample of his earlier Bare Blips EP after the jump.

Lindsay Lowend - Wind Fish EP Preview

Catch a glimpse into Lindsay Lowend's new EP, Wind Fish, which is slated to be released on August 6.  As much as I dislike genre pitching, it is interesting to see Lowend embracing the "neon" sound, a sound reflected in the album art.  A discerning eye can sense the EP's affinity with recently posted pieces like the joint collaboration between Lockah and Taste Tester.  Check out Adam Harper's trenchant overview of the burgeoning scene in his essay "Essay: Meanwhile, in the UK’s dance underground…" over at Dummy.

Mysterious, London based producer Ben Khanhas released “Drive (Part 1)” last week, his first track to hit the internet.Shouts to Kev.

Illangelo - Crash Landing

Illangelo is part of the production team behind The Weeknd.  His solo album, History of Man offers a multimedia sci-fi narrative inspired by Paradise Lost, following the journey of Prisoner #870729 through space and time— this is the lead single "Crash Landing".  History of Man drops August 20th on Bromance Records.

Gangways - I Mean We Could (EP)

Jungle - Drops

Up on Mt. Sinai, yungvlad had the drop on Jungle's Platoon video.  On the flip side of the record, Jungle presents Drops which, while maintaining the nu soul funk elements, infuses sensuality where it was lacking in the previous effort. Both tracks are released via Chess Club Records on 15 July 2013.

Matias Aguayo - Rrrrr/Aonde

I've been listening to Chilean artist, Matias Aguayo's, new album, The Visitor, since it was released in late June.  Aguayo, whose previous two albums were released on Kompact, has released this album on his new imprint, Cómeme, dedicated to showcasing Latin American talent. While much of the album is, perhaps, too ambitious in its scope, creating a frenetic sound that engenders cacophony rather than left-field discordant dance grooves, Aguayo is at his best when he settles in seductive dance groves as in Rrrrr and Aonde.

Salvia Plath - Bardo States

Salvia Plath's (formerly RunDMT) new album, Bardo States, harkens back to an innovative decade in pop music that bore such talents as the Beach Boys' Brian Wilson and the collective Beatles. The sound pallets here are often as inventive while remaining refreshingly modern.  Bardo States came out on July 8th via Weird World/Domino Records.

DonChristian - My Crew

Associated with Le1f - see after the jump.  Directed by Sam Jones.

Soulection Radio Show #135

Soulection is the wettest label in the game right now... theyre changing everything and I say that not just because of their quality beats but because they're about to invade the mainstream.  Rumor has it that Tyrese, Genuwine, Tank (AKA Super R&B group "TGT") are using mostly soulection beats for their new project.  Additionally, a little birdy told me that Kendrick's new album will feature a lot of stuff from Soulection too.  They boast artists: AbJo, Atu, Esta, IAMNOBODI, Mr. Carmack, Sango, Ta-Ku and more... I remember I had this realization a few months back that literally half the artists I was slapping was on Soulection and I lost it.  Anyways here is their 135th radio show with AbJo (who I'm boutta do a video for) and Yung Satan

Mr. Carmack - Say yes or say no

A week late on this one... but it's so clean. And Stevie was in the stu with Carmack yesterday so it felt right.

Sampha - Sundanza EP

This is an update to our original post on this EP.  Sampha's debut has been one of the site's most viewed projects for quite some time despite the fact that the original soundcloud is defunct.  Moreover, the project has disappeared from the internet by and large.  Thus, I give you a working soundcloud.

Lockah & Taste Tester - Higher Learning EP

Activia Benz's newest release is a joint EP from Aberdeen’s Lockah and Atlanta’s Taste Tester.  See Lockah's steller Only Built for Neon Nites  (via Donkey Pitch), a nod to the "neon" sound that is brewing in the UK underground, after the jump.

Sophie - Bipp/Elle

Cleanup here.  Out on Numbers.  Hailing from the UK, of Scottish origin, based in London. "Tune of the summer" according to lil mufasa, if you care what he thinks. Less vapidly put:
It barely even has a kick drum, much less a regular one. The foundations of the rhythmic architecture are almost entirely hidden inside its deceptive bulk, wrapped in the blobs of curved muscle that urge us forward, wave upon peristaltic wave, as fleshy antenna arc above in an organic centrifuge. Sophie’s Bipp might be the first underground dance hit to have evolved an endoskeleton. There are almost no perpendicular lines in time or timbre space – sounds curve upward, glide downward, slide off another or withdraw swiftly into the membranes they came from, leaving silence. The acoustic is strangely close, enhancing the bass, and the voice is confidently post-human. And along with all of this is the promise, quickly fulfilled: “I can make you feel better… if you let me…” - Adam Harper
Check out her earlier work after the jump.

Stwo - Beyond EP

LFTF debuted the release of Parisian Stwo's Beyond EP.  Stwo is the man who masterfully flipped the Action Bronson clip - above - into the song Cryin.

Check the video for Anna (which flips Janet Jackson's Love Will Never Do (Without You), the same Jackson track used by Jamie XX in Far Nearer) after the jump and download Stwo's Beyond EP courtesy of LFTF.
