Alek Fin - Mull EP

As the Gods often appreciate, Alek Fin embraces the negative space in his music as James Blake and Nic Jaar have done.  He dazzles us - creating beautiful, filmic imagery all the while avoiding a cliche drop or the parading synths that have pervaded the EDM scene and in the same moment furrowed the brows of many on Olympus.  That third track especially goes.  Alek Fin is from Thousand Oaks, CA and jus stole your girl.

Chad Valley ft. El Perro Del Mar - Evening Surrender

Oxford based Chad Valley is that dude. Homeboy squadded up with an A-list of indie collaborators for his refreshingly, catchy sophomore effort; Young Hunger, including Twin Shadow, Glasser, TEED, and Active Child. The plug is lowkey stale but that's only if you're on civilian time. So yea. This cut is hxlla pretty. "Evening Surrender" is the clean title too. I'm faded, take me back. I'm all yours tonight.

Alicia Keys ft. Maxwell - Fire We Make

Last week, the beautiful and equally talented Alicia Keys dropped her 5th studio album Girl on Fire. Yea....I didn't really notice either. She's been the cool ghost for awhile now, almost 3 years since The Element of Freedom along with the marriage to Swizzy and her 1st child. I decided to give it a quick run through because quite honestly, she deserves a lot more. Well whatever, "Fire We Make" is goin in. Essentially falling in the baby maker genre, Keys and Maxwell trade high pitched falsettos over the silky, laid back 90s flow production. On some Usher and Monica, fereal though wizards. Primarily should be slapped in the bedroom or anywhere you feel that it may be appropriate.
