PANAMA- Good Winter [A Bon Iver Remix Album]
So this enigmatic cat PANAMA decided to go head and release this Good Winter tape yesterday and the listeners rejoiced. This genre-shattering piece is beautifully composed and crosses so many different aspects of the musical spectrum that it is very easy to get lost in. And although the overall feel of the record is somewhat like that of a rainy day or of reflection on a long lost love, its sincerity outweighs its sadness.
Naturally, the indie vibe of Bon Iver carries through with pleasant variations of electronic music filtered in and out, generally enhancing the heartfelt and moving mood of the indie-folk superstar. By turning to elements of ambient, garage, experimental and even some dub-step PANAMA is able to complement the musical ability of Bon Iver, while highlighting his own musical skill and ability.
The world's on a youthful wave of head-turning music and PANAMA seems like he's next up to receive his dues, so keep an eye and an ear out.
