Darkside - Darkside EP

The product of Nicolas Jaar (check out his Space is Only Noise project that came out in January) and Dave Harrington, Darkside is driven by driving Guitars, haunting lyrics, and simple loops.  It has something of a minimalistic beauty to it that is quite enjoyable.  I have found myself gravitating back to this stream for the past few days now and just letting the whole thing play through.  The Darkside Ep is out now on Jaar's label, Clown and Sunset.

Azealia Banks - 212 featuring Lazy Jay

I am aware that this is slightly dated.  Back in September, Azealia Banks released the video for this spastic somewhat crude joint and it immediately began spreading like wildfire.  However, shortly after the video was posted, it was taken down due to a dispute over the backing instrumentals which Azealia took from Lazy Jay's song Float My Boat.  Which is right around the time that I came across the mp3 for the track.  Hence, I never knew a video existed until a little while ago when it was re-released crediting Lazy Jay.  Anyway, now that I've explained all that enjoy.  Check out the Jacques Greene cameo.

Radiohead - Bloom (Jamiexx Rework Part 3)

So I have been listening to this track (or an early derivation of it) for the last two weeks or so billed as the Jamie xx Club mix.  Granted there are an added three minutes but I think that is due to the fact that it was ripped from a Thom York BBC mix.  Its not necessarily a new track but I am glad that I'll have an mp3 and that I no longer have to listen to the youtube rip that has facebook chat sounds popping up periodically.  Either way, I like this version a lot more than the one on the Tkol remix album.

Drake – Over My Dead Body (Star Slinger Remix)

Star Slinger is among the first to take on Take Care.

Air Jordan I Commercial

The NBA banned the Air Jordan I from being worn in the league. Jordan, however, still wore the Air Jordan I's and was fined $5,000 a game because the sneaker's color was too vibrant for shoe regulations. The Air Jordan 1's are designed by Peter Moore. As of 2011, the Air Jordan I has been the most reproduced Air Jordan with over 96 colorways. chyea!

Sinden – G Like Me Feat. G-Side

Double decker bus swag. Too much for me. Check out G-Side's new album below. If you only have time for one track please listen to "Atmosphere." See the Stalley feature as well (Gettin' It, track 11 - yes that is a Too Short rework at the end).

Anthony Atcherley

Atcherley's Paris Baby! EP (the title track is below) came out in mid September on So French Records. The bottom track is a recent remix. Just a little something to grove to.

Keep Shelly in Athens - California Birds

I haven't jumped on the bandwagon that is Keep Shelly in Athens as I'm not sure I like everything they put out.  But I do like this track (which is a cover of an Abadabad track) that appeared on their  new Forest Family 12″ EP Our Own Dream. Further, I think this video is beautifully shot and edited.

Knxwledge - Konsistensi.EP

No secret here.  This man is as prolific as he is talented.  Check out his production on Blu's NoYork! and Jesus albums.  This is his most recent tape released on his bandcamp about a week ago and I'll say that I have been thoroughly enjoying it since it dropped.

Julio Bashmore - Well Wishers [Radio Rip]

Julio Bashmore's forthcoming release on Futureboogie Recordings. It's a double A-Side EP that "pays homage to the house coming out of Paris in the mid 90s". the EP drops on December 19.

JMSN - Alone (Kno Remix)

"After hitting up CunninLynguists’ producer Kno for an exclusive remix of Maroon 5’s Goodnight Goodnight that eventually ended up being cut from their 2008 remix album Call & Response due to sample clearance issues, Brandon Phelps at Variable Entertainment, this time with up-and-coming Detroit singer/producer JMSN (pronounced Jameson), reaches out to Kno again for an exclusive re-work of JMSN’s single Alone. JMSN’s album †Priscilla† drops 1.11.12."

Feist - How Come You Never Go There

Her live rendition of this on David Letterman (pretty amazing check out the horns) with Mountain Man singing backup was shown to me by a friend a while back and since then this has quickly become one of my favorite songs off her album, Metals.  For those that don't know, James Blake's Limit to Your Love is a cover of Feist's original (if that gets you to push play then fine).

Cults - Bad Things (Remix) featuring Freddie Gibbs

So, the Cults are releasing a hip hop rework of their début album.  The first track to see the light of day is this Freddie Gibbs assisted track.  I like to see Gibbs stepping out of the usual path (see his feature on the last Cunninglinguists album, his feature on the Self Scientific album, the Mexicans with Guns feature).  He needs to do more tracks like this and less in the Young Jeezy vein.
