Throwback Thursday: Lou Bond - I'm So In Love - Motherless Child (Live)

Lou Bond... the boss known best for his song "To the Establishment" (also amazing and heavily sampled by the likes of Mary J Blige and Outkast)... gets loose in a little medley action seamlessly bleeding Al Green's Let's Stay Together and Motherless Child blues (popularized by Robert "Barbecue Bob" Hicks - but covered by many and began as a "traditional negro spiritual").  Lou's scatting at the beginning is especially interesting... reminiscent of Jack Black at some moments - putting a smile on your face and yet by his wailing at the end, you all but cry.  Lou Bond should be lauded as one of the great soul artists of the 60s and 70s but is actually fairly slept on.  His conscious strumming and wailing is perhaps a political response to Bill Withers.
