DROPXLIFE... XO affiliate outta Toronto who masterminded The Weeknd's - Initiation... continues to drop quality produced gems.  In the vein of his friend Illangelo (also a producer for the weeknd) and fellow Canadian producer Black Atlass, DROP's beats hit hard but with a clipping crunch that pleasantly stings the ear when the volume is cranked.  DROP first grabbed our attention with a track called rollxplae in 2011, when the Weeknd's buzz was biggest and any known affiliate was meat to sink our curious teeth into.  Drop also has one of the best twitter accounts... unlike the XO figurehead.

The Weeknd - Drunk In Love (aywy. & TVNE remix)

The Weeknd's remix of Beyonce's "Drunk in Love"... was kind of weak. But this remix of that remix comes a little harder.  Also peep the Sade remix aywy laid down a month ago.

The Weeknd - Valerie (Radio Rip)

Just premiered on BBC Radio 1.  Expect "Till Dawn" to appear in its full audio glory as well very soon.  Trilogy arrives November 13th through Republic Records. P re-order here.

JMSN - Alone

Detroit native Christian Berishaj aka JMSN (pronounced JAMESON) recently dropped his 16 track LP †Priscilla†, which he solely produced. Here is the video for "Alone," his first single and my favorite song off the album by far. This came out a while back, but hey fuck it. You can't help but draw comparisons to The Weeknd after listening to this joint. Abel is far ahead in the game (VERY FAR) but dude does his thing. Painful, drug induced nights are becoming a relevant past time these days. Enjoy

In the 3rd and final episode in the sequence that is The Weeknd’s mix tape trilogy, Echoes of Silence does not fail to not only continue the essentially dark mystique that we as fans have come to appreciate in his music but to also introduce an element of transparency, including half of a verse dedicated to his mother in the song “The Fall”- a refreshing aspect that was missed in Thursday and eluded to in House of Balloons. Artist Abel Tesfaye, aka The Weeknd, has seen one of the most rapid growths in popularity amongst music junkies and is slowly cracking the underground ceiling into mainstream popularity, especially after the endorsement and an exchange of cameos on each other’s projects with fellow Toronto native and headliner Drake. Needless to say, when Echoes dropped on December 21, 2011, our dark knight had a reputation to live up to and, in my opinion, he delivered.

This is the first official video released by The Weeknd.  It was created by Mikael Columbu. If you're unfamiliar with this track... I urge you to, generally speaking... pick it the fuck up.  The video takes place on Planet Ethio X in the year 16311.  Model Geena Rocero plays the bad little lady.

FLorence + The Machine- Remain Nameless

Although I'm not the biggest Florence fan, I was able to fxck with few tracks off her most recent album, Ceremonials. The one gem that ended up on repeat was "Remain Nameless". Heavy drums, some bass and a nice synth to line the track did it for me. Also, lyrically she delivers. I don't think the song is limited to a single meaning so apply yours as you will. Vocally, she's always on point.
The Weeknd crew did their thing and remixed her "Shake it Out" track a month ago. I expect more to follow suit and mix a couple tracks off of Ceremonials. This youtube lyrics video is the best quality audio I could find for embedding. Forgive me
