Submerse - 'This Time You're Not Wrong'
Hospital Records released this Submerse track a few days ago as part of their "Sub 150" compilation, and I've had it on repeat since. Submerse is slowly becoming one of my favorite artists with a unique sound drawing on elements of garage, ambient and drum and bass, that suits every occasion for me. For more about Submerse and additional tracks, peep the jump.
Submerse hails from Cheshire, England and is starting to see some of his best work over the past two years. In 2011, he gained recognition from such powerhouses as DJ Mag and BBC Radio On and was able to host the Essential Garage Show for the Ministry of Sound on more than one occasion.
The following joint samples the classic slow jam of the same name by INOJ, and is an example of Submerse's more ambient and soft production.
'Everything Will Be Okay' exhibits more of the Drum and Bass influence of Submerse's music. But he also sheds light on just how innovative he is within that genre by keeping the mood and tone still very mellow, instead of creating a typical DnB party jam.
Finally is a wonderfully constructed mix that is heartfelt and draws from some of my favorite songs, particularly Shlohmo's remix of Burial's 'Shell of Light.'
